About Our Staff
Diane Edwards is the programme manager and is a qualified and experienced tutor. (Certificate in education 2004) Diane has taught individuals on different levels of counselling training for the past fifteen years including level 6 supervision training. She has worked as a trainer in various educational establishments including St Helens College and Liverpool community college. Diane has also worked and taught in private organisations within the North West before opening Cheshire Therapy Centre.
Diane is a BACP REG.SNR accredited counsellor/psychotherapist with 17 years of experience. Diane brings experience to the teaching team from her counselling and psychotherapeutic background. She is well established offering counselling/psychotherapy on a private basis at the Centre and surrounding areas as a self – employed practitioner. Diane’s experience includes NHS work, private referrals for NHS staff, BUPA, AXA, wellness and other employee assistance programmes. Diane is also a SNR Accredited clinical supervisor of individuals. She has numerous qualifications in the counselling field including a substantial certificate at master’s Level in Gestalt psychotherapy.
Julie Gerken has been tutoring since 1983 firstly as a business admin tutor and then as an adult skills coordinator. In May 2000 Julie took another route teaching personal and career pathway development at Runshaw College. Julie qualified as a counsellor in 2000 and progressed to teach counselling in Warrington before joining Cheshire Therapy Centre in 2009. Julie now teaches on all levels of our counselling courses including level 6 supervision training. Julie is a qualified tutor and valued staff member bringing experience and knowledge into discussion groups involving students and the team (Certificate in education 2006).She has taught within further education, prisons and government funded schemes and charities.
Graham Jones is a qualified tutor and has previously taught at St Helens College. (Certificate in education 2004) He has taught at the Centre on levels two, three and four. Graham’s main role has been teaching the certificate in counselling skills level three. Graham is well structured in his approach which is valued by the students and the team. He also brings his strength and experience of integrating skills into the work place. Graham qualified as person centred counsellor in 1999 and works in the NHS as a trainer. Grahams experience includes working in Health improvement, facilitation, mediation and conflict resolution. Graham is also a hypnotherapist. He has stepped out of the tutoring role at the Centre but maintains a valued presence as the internal verifier.
Cheshire Therapy Centre is pleased to welcome David into the team. He is currently undergoing teacher training and is shadowing Julie on the certificate in counselling level 3 course.
